Dogs for Adoption
Adopt a Dog Print E-mail

We always have a variety of dogs available at Teckels, or situated in one of our foster homes around the county, which aren't always on our website, so please feel free to call us or pop in to see which dogs are available. When you have chosen a dog that you like, we will come to your home to check that it is suitable and then arrange for you to take the dog home to begin it’s new life with you.

Adopting a Dog: We charge a one off adoption fee of £135 (this is to cover all associated veterinary costs. If you can afford any extra, donations towards their care at Teckels is always much appreciated!)

Whats included?

  • Neutering or Spaying (if under 6 months a voucher will be issued)
  • 1st part of their annual vaccination
  • Microchip
  • Behaviour Advice Booklet
  • Worming and Flea Treatment

Can you give one of these dogs a home?

Kiera Print E-mail

Rottweiler, Female, 4 Years old

Kiera is a very playful, sweet dog that is looking for a home with somebody that has previous experience of owning a Rottweiler. She generally walks nicely on the lead, however, she is a big dog with the potential to pull so will need a physically robust owner to cope with this. Not suitable to live with children or other dogs.

Minxie Print E-mail

JRT, Female, 1 1/2 Years old

Minxie is a sweet little dog that doesn't like being left for too long and would therefore like to have somebody at home for most of the day. She travels well in the car and is good with most other dogs. Minxie is used to being around children and may be suitable to live with cats.

Beau Print E-mail

English Bulldog X Staffie, Male, Approx. 1 Year old

Beau originally came to us as a stray. He is an easily excitable dog that will require a very experienced home, without any children. Beau needs an owner that is prepared to carry on with his general training. He is looking for a quiet home environment with somebody that is at home for most of the day. Very clean in the kennel and very affectionate.

Chi Print E-mail

Akita, Male, 6 Years old

Chi is a beautiful dog that is looking for a home with somebody that has previous experience of owning a large dog, ideally a Akita. His previous history is unknown so he can not go to a home with children under the age of ten. Although Chi has a quiet temperament, he is a big dog with the potential to pull so requires an owner that is physicallly able to walk him. As with all Akitas, Chi should never be let off the lead unless in a very secure area. He is looking for a home without any other animals. Chi is very playful and loves to chase after toys.

Rannouch and Taliska Print E-mail

Trailhounds (large dogs), 2 Males, 13 & 14 yrs

Tally and Ranny are two beautiful trailhound boys who have been at Teckels for several years now and are looking to finally find their forever home (possibly on a foster basis) where they can grow old together. The boys love going for gentle walks and would ideally like a large, secure garden to mooch around in and enjoy the sunshine. As they are getting older, they are getting a little more selective with other dogs and would probably prefer a home without other animals. However, Tally and Ranny love being around adults and children and would love to spend all day curled up on the sofa getting lots of fuss. Although the boys are getting older now, and normally walk very nicely on the lead, they are big dogs and as such can still be strong on the lead so will need an owner that is physically able to handle them. Tally and Ranny both love their food and will do anything to get to a tasty treat, even if it involves getting into your cupboard! A pair of trailhounds that has been in rescue for years may not be the easiest dogs to take on, however, anyone willing to offer these boys a lovely home would gain the most wonderful and affectionate dogs one could ask for. We would prefer Ranny and Tally to be rehomed within a reasonable distance of Gloucestershire, as, after all this time, we wouldn’t want to send them hundreds of miles away.

Sox Print E-mail

Terrier, Male, 9 Months old

Sox is a lovely little dog that is looking for a home with somebody that is at home for most of the day. He is nice to walk  on the lead and quite playful. Unkown with children. Not good with cats! Travels well in the car.

cassie Print E-mail

Lab X Collie, Female, 3 Years old

Cassie is a very energetic, affectionate dog that is looking for an active Home. She has the intellect of a collie and the stomach of a labrador and is looking for a home with daily challenges, such as agility or flyball, to keep her mind occupied. Cassie can be very strong on the lead and is looking for an owner that has the time and patience to continue with her obedience training. She loves chasing after balls and paddling in water and is very clean in the kennel. Although Cassie is very friendly and affectionate she would not be suitable to be rehomed with children.

Sascha Print E-mail

American Bulldog X, Female, Approx. 2-3 Years old

Sascha originally came to us as a stray so unfortunately we don't have any previous history on her. She is looking for a home with somebody that ideally has previous experience of owning a large/bullbreed type dog. Sascha likes playing with squeaky toys and enjoys a lot of fuss. Although she can walk very niely on the lead, she is a very strong dog and has the potential to pull, particularly when another dog is around. She is great with most people but can be territorial around her food so is looking for an adults only home without any other animals.

Belle Print E-mail

Lurcher, Female, 3 Years Old

Belle is a large Lurcher that is looking for an experienced home. Fully housetrained but further obedience training required. Will need secure fencing and ideally a decent size garden to burn of some energy. Her recall off lead is not great, particularly when distracted. However, Belle is food and toy motivatedwhich may be useful for further training. Belle is very good in the house, although used to being on the furniture so would ideally go to a home where thats not a problem. Unfortunately Belle has a high drive to chase anything running away from her, including livestock and small animals.
